Help us find Gifted and Talented children! The Gifted and Talented Program is looking for High School students to join us at our GATE Wave to educate and provide community awareness regarding our Program on the following dates and location from 4:00pm to 5:30pm:
Friday, February 2, 2018, Micronesia Mall Intersection
Friday, February 9, 2018, ITC Intersection
Friday, February 23, 2018, Chief Quipuha Intersection
High School students will be allowed the opportunity to participate in our efforts to educate and provide community awareness of the Program and upcoming program activities. Most importantly, the upcoming screening of our Pre-Kindergarten Program commencing March 1, 2018.
Preparation Instruction:
Students must create informational banners with our Program information:
SY 2018-2019 GATE Pre-K Testing beginning March 1, 2018. For more information call 477-0632 or 300-5332.
Students can earn up to 3 hours each day, 1 hour per banner created, 1 hour for their attendance and 1 hour for a reflection paper to be submitted to the school.
Activity Instruction:
Bring your informational poster to the WAVE site.
Sign in with the activity coordinator to obtain verification of attendance.
Show your poster to community passing by on the Wave.
Reflection Instruction:
In order to earn service learning hours, a reflection needs to be turned in to a teacher who can input the hours into Power School. You need to address: What did you do? What did you learn? How was this an example of service? Explain the impact that your participation had towards providing services to potential gifted and talented students.
