Adopt A Wall - Park Beautification

Adopt A Wall - Park Beautification

Island Girl Power in Dededo has adopted nearby neighborhood parks in Kaiser Dededo to restore and maintain. There are large walls that are available for painting of murals. This project is an opportunity for students to plan a mural, to raise funds for it, and to paint it. Doing this will help provide the neighborhood with a positive environment in which to play and relax.

Provide sketches that depict physical fitness, health, sports activities for murals to be painted in one of 8 walls in a nearby park in Kaiser Dededo, near Island Girl Power. Work with us so that we may solicit for paint and equipment to support your mural project. Must provide 10 contact hours at our facility in order to gain enough knowledge and understanding of how the parks project fits into our prevention efforts.

Preparation Instruction:
  • Attend Volunteer Tour & Safety Briefing
  • Contact us for an outline of project
  • Assess paint and supplies needed
  • Submit sketches (concepts)
  • Schedule work days with us
  • If possible set up fundraisers to support the purchase of paint, supplies and equipment. Coordinate the fundraisers with us to make sure there are no conflicts of interest.  Some sponsors are welcome.  Contact us regarding any sponsorship limitations we have in place.  (These hours will be in addition to your painting hours).
